Methow At Home
Welcome spring with an April 4 walk at Rizeor Lake!
Join Carolyn Loren at what will be the newly reopened Rizeor Lake Trail, and look together for early wildflowers and returning birds. It’s a 3 ¾ mile walk with helpful switchbacks to ramp up 400 feet to a big view before checking out the aspen grove as we head back to the trailhead. Those switchbacks are a fine spot for listening and spotting meadowlarks, and the grove could have a good variety of birds beginning their nesting season. Carolyn is not an expert bird or plant guide, but is a former park ranger who has loved getting to know the wonderful local nature in our valley. This is her close-to-home and much visited trail.
We’ll meet at the Red Barn at 9:30 to carpool to the trailhead. Bring binoculars if you have them, good walking shoes, water, a snack and good spring curiosity.
