Thursdays in October from 3-4:30 at the Twisp Grange

This a four part series for those caring for people with dementia, whether you are family, friend or professional. Sheila has conducted this class in the past and it will be instructive but also informal and driven in part by your questions. If cannot attend all four, there will be hand outs for the class.

Week 1:  About Dementia Q & A

Week 2:  Engagement and Communication

Week 3:  Tips & tricks to providing care for persons with Dementia

Week 4:  Self-care and resources for Caregivers of persons with Dementia

Sheila is a Palliative Care and Hospice certified Registered Nurse, known for providing high-level care to patients and families with long-term or life-limiting conditions. Sheila is a compassionate nursing professional devoted to being a voice for patients, promoting successful person-centered care, and supporting the local community and throughout Okanogan County.

Sheila has worked in many care settings throughout her 30+ years as a nurse: Hospitals, long-term care settings, out-patient settings, and clinic-based care. Sheila is eager to say that some of her favorite experiences were while working as Nurse Director of Jamie’s Place here in the Methow Valley, and teaching about dementia to staff, families, and community members.

Sheila is currently the Clinical Supervisor and Director of Okanogan Palliative Care.
Sheila appreciates the opportunity to discuss and inform on the topic of Dementia.
