Methow At Home
Into the Blue by Susan Edsall Into the Blue is the drama of our imperfect family digging out of a terrible mess. The trouble begins when Dad, whose passion is rebuilding and flying antique airplanes, suffers a devastating stroke that leaves him unable to read, write, speak, tell time, understand the alphabet—or fly.
Battling the rock-bottom expectations of the experts, and with no medical training whatsoever, my sister and I (aka The Blister Sisters) take matters into our own hands. We quickly discover we are not the Waltons. With almost everything against us, we cobble together our own rehab program to get Dad back behind the controls of his beloved open-cockpit biplane and into the air, finding ourselves changed in the process.
Inspiring, gritty, and often hilarious, it's also the story of anyone who has ever fought back from a dire prognosis to pursue a cherished dream.
