The Incredible Beaver

Join Julie Nelson of the Methow Beaver Project to gain a greater appreciation for beavers and how they are a “key” component in stream restoration, their connection to salmon, how their spaces provide resilience to wildfire, and a sustainable water supply for wildlife and human communities.

The Methow Beaver Project  promotes beavers as a tool for maintaining stream integrity, restoring riparian habitat and reclaiming wetlands, while fostering community education and involvement to improve the health and resilience of the Methow Valley watershed.

Julie Nelson has been with MBP since 2013 and is currently their Education and Outreach Coordinator. Before joining MBP she was a longtime Lead Naturalist for a premier environmental education organization based in Woodinville. She enjoys sharing her passion for the natural world with students of all ages.
