The Natural History of The Methow Valley: Geology, Flora, Fauna & Ecology

Dana Visalli, our local naturalist, is offering a four part series on, The Natural HIstory of the Methow Valley: Geology, Flora, Fauna and Ecology, every Wednesday at 9 AM in September.

In Part 1, of this four-part series on the natural history of the Methow, we are going to explore the geology of the valley. We will look into where the Methow watershed came from (much of it used to be ocean floor) and why (plate tectonics is the easy answer), and we want to be able to observe some of the rock outcrops in the valley and know something about their history. This will be a 45 minute presentation and 15 minutes of discussion afterwards.

This program is co-sponsored by the Methow Naturalist Journal. Learn more at http://methownaturalist.com/.
