Tension Relief with Jason Rumohr, CHP LMT

Feeling stressed? Or do you feel aches, pains and tension in your body? Then please join me for a weekly class where we will learn to unwind these tensions.

Each week, we will practice simple and gentle practices that help free up the tension that leads to those aches and pains. These types of movements are essential, restorative movements. We'll explore qigong, tai chi, Somatics and self-massage. These practices also help increase relaxation and build strength.

Wednesdays 11:00 - 12:00 PDT, June and July

Held online via GotoMeeting (similar to Zoom)

We will send you the meeting details on Tuesday. Feel free to attend one class or join every week.

About Jason from Jason:
" I enjoy helping people feel fantastic in their bodies and to enjoy the things they love doing. I have been fortunate to study with such gifted teachers as Dr. Barbara Brennan, Thea Elijah, William CC Chen, Bob Iden, Dr. Don St. John, Joseph Heller, Jude Waller, Donna Bajelis and others. My vision is to help people heal on physical and other levels, through the wisdom of their own bodies.

I use both light and deep myofascial release, deep tissue massage, Visceral Manipulation, neuromuscular re-education, movement education (based upon principles shared with Yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong, Hellerwork Movement Integration, Hanna Somatics and Pilates), lymphatic drainage and Hellerwork Structural Integration to treat many acute and chronic conditions. Conditions such as: carpal tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, low/mid/upper back pain/tension, whiplash, neck pain/tension, shoulder pain/tension, poor posture, strains/sprains, hip pain/aches, "getting too old, too fast syndrome", plantar fasciitis/fasciosis, difficult breathing and surgery recovery.

I also teach Tai Chi, Qigong and other movement classes. I first dabbled with Tai Chi in 1999 and in 2011 I started studying more seriously with my current teacher, Bob Iden. Tai Chi has deepened my own body awareness and given me much insight into human movement. My own everyday movements have become much more graceful, easier and stronger. Working in the garden for hours doesn't send me into pain like it used to do. The movements of Tai Chi ask that each and every part of the body listens to and moves in relation to the rest of the body, particularly through the feet. I draw from these experiences to teach all of my Tai Chi and other movement classes.

I grew up in Eastern Washington, lived in Seattle for 20 years and  in 2013, moved to the Methow Valley back in Eastern Washington. In my free time I enjoy hiking, backpacking, cross country skiing, making sauerkraut, practicing tai chi, tending chickens and gardening with my wife Sharon and our dog Zola."
